Reception
The entrance to Hooks is where you will get greeted with a smile and where you will find everything you need to begin and conclude your training experience successfully.
Our expert, friendly staff can guide you through all our membership options and give you the guided tour through the gym. Get advice on training and which classes would best suit you and your routine. Here you can discuss and arrange personal training classes with our trainers and coaches or sit down and have a consultation on your exercise programme and diet. It is also the location of the gym's restaurant "The Food Source"
Gym Floor
Hooks has carefully selected its equipment to meet the training needs of all its members, from those looking to tone up and loose that extra weight to aspiring athletes and professional bodybuilders. A huge range of top quality exercise machines are available to simplify your training and hit every body part whether you're looking to tone or bulk up. Hooks also boasts a full range of free weights with dumbbells ranging up to 60kg as well as well as lighter weights and elastic bands for toning or rehabilitation.
It doesn't end with strength training of course and a wide range of cardiovascular equipment is available to burn and that fat and work those heart rates. As well as treadmills, bikes, striders and steppers Hooks also has state of the art cardio equipment especially selected by its professional coaches such as the highly effective Versa Climber and 'Grinder'. You'll also always find a member of our helpful staff on the gym floor whether you need some help in working some equipment or require 'spot' and a bit of motivation to help beat a personal best. Hooks'staff is there to improve your training so speak to one of our trainers to get a custom programme to suit your goals and lifestyle
Strongman Room
The strongman man room is an area dedicated to old school strength training with an array of Olympic lifting and strongman equipment. Here you will find atlas stones, log lifts, Olympic weightlifting platforms with rubber weights, kettlebells and much, much more.
It's also an area you can let loose your inner caveman so feel free to train with your shirt off, grunt and shout as you push for those extra strength gains.
Ring Studio
The Ring studio features our Olympic size boxing ring and is the home to Hooks' Boxing and Thai Boxing sessions. As well as featuring classes suitable for all levels you'll see professionals and amateurs training for future fights and the studio is also available for personal training sessions with our expert coaches. As well as the ring the room features speed and heavy bags, a skipping area and mirrors to shadow box. It's a room for hard, fun work!
Mat Area
An Olympic standard wrestling mat is the home for many of Hooks' combat sports classes including MMA, Wrestling, fighter development and Thai Boxing. The high quality mat is extremely well padded for training on and allows participants to safely practice their sport.
Spin Room
A room dedicated to our popular spin classes the room features top quality stationary cylcles, a great sound system and is fully air conditioned so you don't overheat on your ride.
Dojo
The Hooks dojo is a tranquil room fully matted out with tatami mats. It is the room used for the traditional martial arts taught at Hooks such as judo and karate as well as for holistic classes such as yoga and pilates.
Spa
Hooks Gym offers a large spa area designed to the highest specification. It features a giant Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and a salt cave, the perfect way to treat yourself after a hard workout.
Treatment Rooms
Hooks Gym is staffed by several top physiotherapists and osteopaths who can expertly treat many of the ailments or injuries you can pick up through work or training. Large private air conditioned rooms are used for treatments which can be made by appointment at our reception.
Tuff Ink
Hooks Gym is unique in offering a tattoo studio staffed by one of the UK's top tattoo artist. The studio is managed and run by experienced artists and offers some incredible designs which customers can look over or have designed to their specifications
